Getting to Know Carson Efrid…

  Carson Efird, MFA, E-RYT 500, is a dancing yogini from South Carolina living between Raleigh, NC and Los Angeles, CA. An enthusiastic student and teacher of Prana Flow, Carson is inspired by evolutionary Vinyasa, contemporary dance techniques, Tantra, Ayurveda and her teacher, Shiva Rea, creatress of Prana Vinyasa. Since completing her 300-hour Prana Flow certification in 2008, she joyfully serves as an assistant and mentor in Shiva’s Samudra: Global School for Living Yoga. Carson directs affiliate Prana Vinyasa Flow Yoga Teacher Training programs for EVOLVE Movement in Raleigh, NC, and, UCLA Summer Institutes in Los Angeles, CA. She received her MFA in Dance in 2013 from UCLA where she taught yoga in the Department of World Arts and Cultures/Dance. Carson is stoked to return to EVOLVE, her hOMe base, as Yoga Program Director.   Our Creative Manager Julia Clarke caught up with Carson back in Raleigh last month over avocado and pea toast on Bolted Bread to talk over some of the big questions in life like…..   JC: What is your favorite snack?   CE: Avocado and pea toast on bolted bread! I’m not really a snacker honestly I love eating big, hearty meals.   JC: What is your favorite yoga pose?   CE: Oh lord…I really love the process of moving through asanas, when I’m in my practice by myself or in my groove in a class I don’t feel like it’s about any one asana but the movement between the asanas.
