Project Description

Karen Anderson has been living in Vail for 19 years and practicing yoga for 17.  Her yoga practice began as a complement to competitive athletic training, but has become so much more: a way to discover the inner self, to relate better to others, to live ethically and peacefully. Having completed multiple certifications in various vinyasa forms, Karen is now a student of the traditional Ashtanga practice with Richard Freeman. She attends annual teacher intensives, with the intent to pursue yoga as a life-long practice.  Karen also practices classical hatha raja yoga with teachers of the Dharma Mittra lineage.

While she teaches in the raja vinyasa style, Karen incorporates the internal alignment and depth of the Ashtanga practice into her teaching.  A certified massage therapist, she enjoys the study of anatomy, and she recently completed a 3-year course on yoga history and philosophy. The focus of her current practice is Buddhist meditation, and she enjoys sharing the fruits of this powerful practice with her students.  Karen is registered as an experienced teacher with the Yoga Alliance
