Twyla is a RYT-500 yoga teacher and Mental Health Counselor, who received her training while living in Mumbai, India for two years. She trained in classical, Hatha yoga with her teacher, Prasad Rangnekar. Twyla has been practicing different styles of yoga for over 17 years, such as Anusara, Ashtanga, and Vinyasana. When she began Hatha yoga, she found her practice deepened quickly and it helped significantly to reduce depression issues she had struggled with for years. When teaching, Twyla’s hope is to help her students bring awareness of their breath and thoughts into asana practice to create a more peaceful existence on and off the mat. Twyla is also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and works as a counselor for children, adolescents and adults at Colorado West Mental Health. Joe Joe has practiced and trained since '99 in many of the varied yoga styles over the years, but it wasn't until he was introduced to the dynamic ebb and flow, universal rhythm of Bhakti Flow, that he found himself able to really resonate with this living practice. Carson Efird, MFA, E-RYT 500, is a dancing yogini from South Carolina living between Raleigh, NC and Los Angeles, CA. An enthusiastic student and teacher of Prana Flow, Carson is inspired by evolutionary Vinyasa, contemporary dance techniques, Tantra, Ayurveda and her teacher, Shiva Rea, creatress of Prana Vinyasa. At a depleted state of energy, seeking restoration, Erin found her practice. Yoga, energetically connecting her with balance and harmony in the midst of recurring illness and exhaustion, deepened her self awareness. The light bulb went off and the true work that needed to take place in order to heal became apparent. She began to make her commitment to take care of herself a priority, and dedicated herself to the practice. Erin completed Evolve 200 Hr Teacher Training with Amy Baker and Keri Bergeron with the intention of integrating yoga into her daily lifestyle to achieve overall health. Yvonne Schwartz is the owner of Yoga Off Broadway in Eagle, CO. She has been living and teaching yoga in the Vail Valley since 2007. After practicing and studying yoga for six years she began her first formal teacher training at the South West Institute of Healing Arts in Phoenix, Arizona. While at SWHI she studied Anusaura, Vinyasa, Ashtanga, and Restorative yoga with Jim Keegan and Mary Bruce. Upon moving to Colorado Yvonne completed a second 200 hr RYT certification through Inner Power Yoga with R.R. Shakti. She has continued her studies in yoga and leadership studies with Rod Stryker, Seane Corn, Hala Kholori, Suzanne Sterling, and more. Yvonne has over 10 years of teaching experience and enjoys teaching all levels of students. She loves the challenge of meeting the needs of each person (beginner to advanced) and encouraging students to grow in their own personal practice both on and off the mat. Her classes are straight forward and light hearted. There is a mix of finding your edge and finding release. Yvonne is also passionately involved in her community. Julia’s love of yoga, music and adventure has taken her far from her hometown of Glasgow, Scotland over the last decade. Her natural wanderlust brought her to America as a college exchange student in 2001, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Journalism. She spent eight years working as a radio DJ and music promoter for the recording industry in Kansas City, Vermont, Boston and New York City before deciding to fulfill a lifelong desire to teach yoga. Julia completed her first teacher training at Integral Yoga Institute of New York in early 2009. Seeking fresh air, adventure, and the time to enjoy both, it didn’t take long for Julia to settle on Vail, Colorado as her ideal playground. She moved to the Rocky Mountains in 2009 and currently works as the Yoga Director for the Vail Athletic Club at the Vitality Center, teaching soulful and dynamic yoga classes to serve this mountain community that stir a deep sense of embodiment and self-participation. Julia leads workshops and trainings across Colorado and is proud to be a Lululemonambassador and a Rishi for Veda Bars. Outside of the yoga studio, Julia is most often found exploring the Rockies on foot, bike, ski or belay, and sometimes all of the above; she completed her first triathlon in the summer of 2012. Julia is inspired by teachers who elicit her inner poet, including Shannon Paige Schneider, Shiva Rea and Douglas Brooks, and above all, the incredible body of work that is the Tantra. Jim Keegan is the founder of Yoga Nirvana Studio, and has taught yoga in the East Valley of Phoenix for over 9 years. In addition to teaching at the studio, he teaches internationally, in workshops and retreats. He has a B.S. Kinesiology and Biomechanics, and served as Head Yoga Teacher at Arizona State University (ASU) for nine years. Jim ‘s experience includes a number of other leadership positions, including Director of Yoga Teacher Training at a local studio/training educational facility, where he taught exercise physiology and was head instructor as well as key program advisor. Jim’s Biomechanics background assists his teaching, providing a context and vocabulary for articulating anatomy and physiology concepts during class to help students visualize and improve their physical poses during yoga practice. Jim’s teaching and philosophy are informed by his technical training, and his classes are further colored by his ongoing interest in the study of yogic texts, Greek mythology, Irish Celtic Folklore, and time-space theory.
